Dr. Thomas Schmuckli is Chairman of the Board of Helvetia Versicherungen. He has for a long time been active in Swiss industry and finance, in particular as a board member of Bosshard Group and as chairman of Patria Genossenschaft for several years.
 
Thomas Schmuckli was the driving force behind the merger of Helvetia and Baloise, which created a new Swiss insurance champion with a stable Swiss Anchor shareholder. His vision was to create a strong Swiss insurance company that could efficiently compete in the Swiss market with international insurance groups. When Baloise was under pressure from “active investors”, he opened the way for a “Swiss solution” that benefits all stakeholders.
