SIX has invested in infrastructure for Digital Assets and has launched its own digital exchange, the SDX, which provides a reliable platform for trading Digital Assets that is regulated by FINMA. Dr. Thomas Wellauer, a distinguished Swiss executive with a cross-industry background, currently steers SIX Group as Chairman of its Board of Directors. His multifaceted career, encompassing leadership positions at global giants like Credit Suisse, Novartis, and Swiss Re, exemplifies a blend of strategic acumen and operational expertise. Prior to assuming his current role at SIX in 2020, he served as Group Chief Operating Officer of Swiss Re, guiding the company through transformative change and optimizing its core functions. Dr. Wellauer's dedication extends beyond the financial sector, as evidenced by his active roles on the boards of Aegon N.V. and the University Hospital Zurich Foundation, a testament to his commitment to broader societal well-being.
