Private Banking Today and Tomorrow – the EFG Approach
Meet Our Guest

EFG is one of the most successful Swiss private banks in recent years. It has been able to increase assets under management based on an entrepreneurial business model, while at the same time focusing on effective risk management and controls. The architect of this success has, to a large extent, been Giorgio Pradelli, who has been with the bank for many years in leading management positions and is today its Chief Executive Officer.
Giorgio Pradelli has served as Chief Executive Officer of EFG International and EFG Bank since 1 January 2018. Prior to this, he was Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer. He also chairs the EFG International and EFG Bank Executive Committees, as well as the EFG International Global Business Committee, and holds several non-executive board positions within entities controlled by EFG.
Pradelli joined EFG in 2003. Early in his tenure, he played a key role in preparing the company’s IPO in October 2005, as part of the restructuring and consolidation of EFG’s banking interests under a listed holding structure. He had previously built his career at Deutsche Bank, holding senior roles in Frankfurt, Luxembourg, and London between 1991 and 2003.
In his capacity as CEO, Pradelli has led the bank through acquisitions and external turbulences, bringing the bank on a path of sustainable profitable growth. He also serves as Chair of the Association of Swiss Asset and Wealth Management Banks (VAV/ABG), and sits on the boards of the Swiss Bankers Association and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Turin, and holds Swiss and Italian citizenship
