AGM and Luncheon
Guest of Honor: Andreas Berger, Group CEO of Swiss Re
Join us on Thursday, November 26, at 11.30 at the Zunfthaus zum Rüden
The Harvard Club of Switzerland is delighted to invite you to its Annual General Meeting followed by the Luncheon presentation with Andreas Berger:
Today’s challenges in insurance and reinsurance
Swiss Re is the world’s second largest reinsurer and has been in business since 1863. The company has survived economic crises and wars and has continuously adapted its business model to changing economic conditions as well as evolving risks and the changing needs of its customers.
Currently, insurance and reinsurance companies face new challenges and risks, in particular those associated with artificial intelligence — risks that have only recently emerged but affect many industries. A central topic for insurance is the impact of climate change and global warming: Environmental risks and exceptionally large catastrophes have become more frequent. Under Andreas Berger’s leadership, Swiss Re not only responds to these risks but also actively promotes risk management, supporting clients in preventing damage through such measures.
The central theme of the speech will be the contribution of insurance and reinsurance to societal welfare. Insurance protects us against catastrophic losses and enables businesses and communities affected by such events to rebuild.
